This was the only place in the Big Horn range where I could get a cell phone signal.

Located on Medicine Mountain, the Medicine Wheel is one of North America’s most well preserved Native American sacred places.
It’s at least 250 years old. Even today, the site is sacred to many different tribes across the US.
Offerings tied to the rope fence or left within the wheel are from those who have made the pilgrimage to the site. Ceremonies still take place here regularly.
I was accompanied by crows during my hike out. A few even stopped and talked with me for a while.
At more than 8500 ft. elevation, it’s incredible to watch the weather roll through the mountains.
During the summer months, much of the region is open range which means cattle can pop up anywhere. (Even in your campsite at 5:30a!)
