Our new house is finally starting to feel like a home.
Now that the major work is done, it’s the little touches that make it feel like home.
And with such a wonderful place to work, I’d better get to it…

If you really want to capture the sound of the 80s and 90s, you gotta go vintage.
In this case, 1993, 1988, and 1985. (top to bottom)
They’ve aged quite well, wouldn’t you say?

I just learned that these are some of the very first Avantone MixCubes ever produced. Probably one of the first 100 pairs to exist in the wild.
The proof? A 3-pin power supply which was never commercially available and no longer seems to exist … not even at the AvantonePro offices down the road in Tallman, NY.
I’m sure they’d be very useful if only we could only plug them in…

With the addition of some basic lighting and acoustic treatment from RealTraps, I’m now able to move into the new studio!
It will take some time to work out the ergonomics, lighting, storage, and cable runs (more detailed posts on the way), but for now, I have an absolutely beautiful sounding place to work!
