Last night I had a dream. I dreamt I was as light as the ether, a floatin’ spirit visiting things to come. The shades and shadows of the people in my life wrassled their way into my slumber.
And then I dreamed on, into the future, to a Christmas morn’ in the far away land where Nathan Junior was setting up camp with a kindly couple who preferred to remain unknown.
And still I dreamed on, further into the future than I’d ever dreamed before, watching Nathan Junior’s progress from afar, taking pride in his accomplishments, as if he were our own, wonderin’ if he ever thought of us, and hopin’ that maybe we’d broadened his horizons a little, even if he couldn’t remember just how they got broadened.
If not New Hampshire, then a land not too far away, where all parents are strong and wise and capable, and all children are happy and beloved. I don’t know. Maybe it was Utah.
Camping with the Canyon
At long last, the weather warmed just enough to allow for a full roof top tent trial. Success!
First Day of Camping (2017 Edition)
International UFO Museum Research Center
Today Fletcher took me to the International UFO Museum Research Center in Roswell, New Mexico. It was a real eye-opener.
Fletcher started by showing me the type of communication and surveillance equipment that was available to the US Air Force in 1947.
After sharing evidence from the crash site, he went on to detail the extent of the government cover up.
For Fletcher, the alien autopsy is clearly one of the most convincing pieces of evidence.
According the Mr. F, this display is quite accurate.
Even so, I remained skeptical.
At any rate, we both enjoyed the alien landing recreation.
And Fletcher REALLY enjoyed the research library. He asked me to read numerous direct sources to him aloud. It was slightly embarrassing, but then, he had some trouble holding the folios.
Afterward, Fletcher asked to do some shopping at the local alien shops.
I’m still not convinced, but it’s clear that Fletcher is a TRUE BELIEVER.
Nathan Jr. Comes Home
The trip home was filled with excitement. (Thanks, New Mexico!)
And did you know about Diesel Exhaust Fluid? Well, don’t let it get low…
Moab is high on the “camp here, now!” list.
Actually, the entire southwest is on that list.
Introducing: Nathan Jr.
I got Nathan Jr.! And Stewart’s RV was totally awesome. Adam (the head service tech) was very generous with his time — he made sure I knew what was what and that I was totally good-to-go.
Just to be safe, Nathan Jr. and I camped close by on our first night.
And I managed to get everything hooked up!
Look — running water!
Everything was perfect. Much fun ahead.
