Overall, we found Louisville to be a hip and stylish city — full of surprises. The people were especially friendly and the food (and craft beer!) was absolutely fabulous.
On our first morning in Louisville, we enjoyed a fantastic brunch at 21c. It’s a restaurant, hotel, and art gallery all rolled into one and we were thrilled at the amount of diverse, high-quality work we found.
Later we hit the “Buy Local” fair. It was unusually hot, but there was cold beer, plenty of shade, and … LIVE BLUEGRASS!

And suddenly it happens. You’re all loaded up and ready to go. After a cozy dinner on the porch of course. (Gotta eat, right?)
Then it’s time to put someone in charge of navigation and decide where you’re headed.

To escape the freeze-melt-freeze-melt fun of April in New England, myself, Alison, and Sharon decided to spend a few days exploring Amsterdam!
We made so many amazing memories…
The gallery above captures many of the general sights and sounds. Scroll down to see more including a day-trip to nearby Haarlem as well as some of the concerts, museums, and art installations we found.

Top-shelf music in Amsterdam.
Concerts at the Concertgebouw (with Jaap van Zweden), Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, and tickets to the Liegti Festival. Who could ask for anything more?

Amsterdam is wonderful, but most visitors will tell you not to miss nearby Haarlem. Excellent advice!
